A commitment to supporting people and nature
We work with a range of organisations and places across the UK and around the world to explore ways to support people and nature.

Developing the evidence base
We work with local, national and international organisations to ensure up-to-date and high-quality research evidence is used in the design and implementation of practice in nature based interventions.
Translating evidence into practice and education
- Identifying gaps in research and filling the gaps where possible
- Monitoring trends in ecopsychology related research and evaluations
- Informing partners and academic institutions of our work
Developing effective nature based interventions
NI research and evaluation is informing and evidencing the ongoing development of the models of practice that Natural Academy have initiated. These models are seeking to be recognised as best practice and to show a strong and growing evidence base. These are:
- NatureWell (NW)
- Natural Self Eco Therapy (NSET)
- Deeper Expansive Nature (DEN)
Enabling individuals, communities and organisations
We are committed to building the confidence and capability of individuals, communities and organisations to deliver nature and health interventions for people and nature. We do this by:
- Consulting with organisations large and small
- Working with communities
- Supporting individuals
- Supporting Natural Academy to design and develop CPD training courses and longer professional training
Advocating for the health of people and the rest of nature
Disseminate research evidence and best practice through reports, media, conference and seminars aimed at the sector and the communities we serve.

Previous relevant research and evaluation
We work closely with Natural Academy and will inform its education and training programmes in ecopsychology, for NI this is one way that the evidence can be put into practice. We also see the evidence and evaluation legacy within Natural Academy transferring over to be part of the NI library.
This includes these documents, evaluations and papers we worked with a number of universities in the development of this library so far and are looking forward to partnering with more in the future.
